Life in OZ

I made my crafts all wk while out sailing and came in on the wkend to sell my creations at the local markets. We sailed with the dolphins, sea turtles and the humpback whales on their migration up and down the coast.
I grew up on a farm so the water world was all new to me but i fell in love with it at once. I love getting away from it all and the sailboat was just that. Pull anchor and off into the sunset!
My family came to visit a couple of times. It was so nice to fullfill my dads dream of sailing (i got to tell him what to do, like pull that anchor, hoist the sail!) Oz is a very special place and i miss it but am so glad to be close to my family now.
This is a photo of Paula and me enjoying a glass of wine watching the sunset on the deck of the sailboat.

In Movie "Australia"

When I was in Australia last year there was the movie Australia being filmed near where i was living on my sailboat. I went to be an extra and got hired as long as i cut my hair short. I was on set for about a mth. as a Military Service Woman.
Then one day on set the director, Baz came to me and asked me to sit in this office and say a line. Well, was i nervous! I just thought i was going to be some extra in the back ground running around. I had to do 3 takes since my mind went blank. My line was "I'm getting a signal from Mission Island." This is when the Japanese were coming to Oz to bomb during the WW2. Nicole Kidman was on set and told me i did a good job. My name is in the credits as well!
It was such an amazing experience and one i never imagined. It is amazing what life brings to you when you are open to it. I have always been one to go with the flow. I have travelled alot so with that comes many experiences. There is a world of opportunities you just have to go for it and have faith in yourself that anything is possible.

Felted Dog Fur
After brushing my beautiful dog Keyna there is alot of hair! I have heard of people making sweaters from their dog hair so I spun some of her hair on my spinning wheel. It is not the easiest fibre to spin so I decided to felt it.
So now I offer to take customers animal fur, felt it and make a small to large pouch or pures for them depending on the amount of fur they have and how much they want to spend.
This picture is a sample of what I have made from Keyna's fur from 3-4 brushings. I add a little colored sheeps wool and a sparkle of angelina.
Orders are welcomed! Just convo us and get brushing your dog!

Kelowna Farmers Market
The Naturally Spun Sisters did our first market of the year together. We had a great stall location and display. It rained for about 20 mins, but the sun came out after that! We sold out of our eco pads and did some great networking. Met a fellow spinner and might be getting some alpca wool. Also had some interested clients for felting their own dogs hair into pouches/bags.
